The first Korean Linear Motor Car
using Lightweight flooring ‘Plymetal’ series
The first Korean linear motor car, received "Most Advanced Technology Awards in 2010", is running from Incheon international airport and Yongyudo island which located near the airport. To make increase transit passenger through the Incheon airport as a hub, government officer think they needs more places to visit or sightseeing or something else to enjoy to increase transit airline passengers through the Incheon airport.
Manless operation with 110 kilometers per hours, below 65 decibels in sound, self levitating style train is the most exciting experience which Shanghai city already has as its competitive in terms of east asian hub airport. In order to make stable levitating of this linear motor car, lightweight was the much more important factors in Hyundai Rotem company as car manufacturer.
It wasn't the case even in the lightweight solution companies in Korea. Starting with R&D personnels in Rotem and Hongseong have continuous meeting for lightweight solutions in interior materials in this first linear motor case, of course.
Plymetal series producing by Hongseong Industrial Co. can apply various kinds of core materials with plywood, aluminum-foams, phenolics plates, PMI, PEI, PVC foam from overseas materials. Finally the conclusion was Plymetal B100 manufactured by Hongseong Industrial company.
Plymetal B100 series are lightweight and self-extinguished balsa cored with non-ferrous metal laminated sandwich structural panel for flooring, partitions and other versatile applications. According to these efforts to reduce the weight, total car weighs 26.5 tones to 19 tones.
Plymetal series manufactured by Hongseong Industrial company has many core options; balsa core, plywood, phenolic and other various current rigid and structural foam core materials. With precision cutting and computer aided fabricating, pre-fabricated module products would be satisfied by car builder and save the installing time as well as the cost.
