Rotem contracted city commuters of 30 cars to Malaysia KTMB(Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad), Formerly known as the Malayan Railway Administration, in 2008 which speed up to 140 km per hour. KTMB required maximum speed of 160 km per hour and commercial speed of a little lower with 6 car 1 module. This train runs in local from June 2010 in Malaysia.
Typically KTMB trains have been applied plymetal flooring system which is non-ferrous metal surface and plywood cores. Such floor system became decayed until the train operation periods due to tropical hot and humid weather condition in Malaysia.
However, it was difficult to find appropriate choice having lightweight, strict humid resistant and stiff enough. Rotem finally had been chosen Hivetecks honeycomb panels in terms of having good lightweight, anti-humidity and stiffness. Furthmore, Hongseong Industrial's honeycomb panel can produce somewhat limitless length of the panel, so they require 6400 mm length of the panel for the floors.
This Hivetecks floor panel installed by parallel, not vertically such as traditional floor size of 4'x8'. Fast installation time save the money aspect, too.
HivetecksⓇ honeycomb panel manufactured and supplied by Hongseong Industrial company in Korea proved over 300,000 cycles of repeated load test in the laboratory, it has a good result from the severe environment. In terms of flooring application, Hongseong has also supplied Hivetecks raised floor system in Oman navay, Indonesian navy and other passenger ferry boats.
