McCron Solid deck finish on Galley floor
as a bonding function
DONG E&P, Denmark-based petroleum and natural gas producer, and Bayerngas, was awarded by a contract for the HEJRE project development to Dawoo shipyard with France-based engineering service firm Technip. This jacket will install at a water depth of 70 meters in the central part of the North Sea.
Building a vessel or offshore facility is sometimes headache for design and production department on yard technicians. Hence, Dong project, Level 5, was faced on difficult situations. At galley area, passageway or gutterway made by stainless steel shall be required hot work with steel deck, however, hot work periods are passed on schedule.
Normally cement mortar can not resistant gutterway fixing with rigid bonding strength between steel deck and gutterway stainless material, so should be welded prior to other jobs. Hot work was impossible at this stage. The idea from the Hongseong McCron deck composition.
40mm thickness McCron Solid deck composition applied on steel deck in order to bond steel deck with stainless steel gutterway material. Then, Cement mortor poured on the McCron Solid deck composition and put normal ceramic tile on the galley area.
As seen on the tile surface, it is normal and simply as usual, however, invisibly applied McCron layer enhanced rigid bonding strength inside the layers. Below pictures are shown how they tested and audited the bonding strength of McCron deck compositions.
