McCron deck composition on Galley LAY DOWN area
Samsung Heavy Industries(SHI) Co. has received a $2.71 billion order from Japan’s Inpex Corp for the construction of an offshore central processing facility (CPF) for the Ichthys LNG project in Australia. The CPF will process gas from the Inpex operated Ichthys offshore field in order to remove water and raw liquids, including a large proportion of the condensate.
Galley Lay Down area of the offshore platform is the place which frequently load, unload and temporary storage of equipment. Sometime this area has many problems with PFP (Passive Fire Protection) paint which was chipped and heavily damaged by the constant loading and unloading of containers.
Some project covers by natural timber material, some are rubber mat, but this has also some problems cracking, break, and long life of years. Hongseong was required that the owner asked the guarantee test for non-breakable and no-crack proven test. The requirement of unload and load weight was 10ft container with full package.
However, Hongseong has tested 20ft container with half package on the field as below pictures. The result was satisfied with our technician even though some scratches occurred during the load, unload test. It was no-break, no-crack proven test finally.
