Aida Prima Cruise by Mitsubishi Nagasaki Shipyard
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries get contracted 2 set of cruise ship from German cruise line on 2011 since Diamond series cruise ships in early 2000s. Total weight of 125,000GT, 300 meter length, 3,300 passengers and 900 crew members of AIDA Prima and AIDA Perla series vessel was delivered lately on time because new regulations, interior issues, and a fire accident at shipyard.
AIDA prima has 18 decks, 15 dining options, indoor and outdoor pools, as well as shops, cafes, and bars. Interior design is accomplished Partner Ship Design based in Hamburg, is responsible for the architecture and interior design in all zones of the AIDA ships.
A few of Korean marine suppliers were joined this projects; elevator from Hyundai Elevator, public space material from Hongseong Industrial, etc. Hongseong Industrial supplied laminated honeycomb panels brand named “Hivetecks” series to Pier 3 Pax restaurant, toilet and other public spaces. The designer required sealess panneling to public space walls, it was tough difficulties to manufactuer as well as site installers, however, it was done successfully.
Hivetecks lightweight honeycomb wall and ceiling panel could be supplied which already acquired DNV marine certificates. Hongseong Industrial company is still one of the few companies which can supply marine lightweight wall, ceiling, floor materials in Asian countries as well as Korean companies.
