World's largest ferry, Tunisian COTUNAV
Tunisia's COTUNAV (Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation) ordered a Ro-Pax ferry to Daewoo shipyard of Korea. With a length of 210 m and breadth of 30 m, the ferry will be the world's largest. It will have a capacity of 3,200 passengers, 285 crews and 1,060 vehicles, and a top speed of 27.5 knots, 800 cabins and 20 sweet cabins.
Amenities will includes a shopping center, restaurants, swimming pool and multiple entertainment facilities. Delivery is due in the first half of 2012. This vessel as night car ferry will reinforce COTUNAV's existing main routes between Tunisia, Italy and France.
Basic design by Tillberg Design Korea, ship building by DSME and public space outfitters are DSON and Sejin locally. Total 3 decks of public spaces, approx. 11,000 square meters, are fitted in shopping center, kids club, restaurant, swimming pool, night club and internet cafe.
HivetecksⓇ H100 lightweight honeycomb panels are applied all toilet lining panels in wet space in deck 7, 9, 10, 11 deck; night club and a'la carte restaurant in 10 deck, bar lounge, main restaurant in 9 deck, moorish cafe in deck 11.
