Flying Ship _ Wig with Hivetecks
It would be a first commercial WIG ship or GEV in the world, 50 passengers of this Wig (Wing In Ground craft) ship build by Wigship heavy industry in Korea. It plans commercial operation between Kunsan and Jeju island on April 2012 after Lloyd's safety test procedure.
A ground effect vehicle (GEV) is one that attains level flight near the surface of the Earth, making use of the aerodynamic interaction between the wings and the surface known as ground effect. GEV are also known as a wing-in-ground-effect (WIG) vehicle, flarecraft, sea skimmer, ekranoplan, SkimMachine, or a wing-in-surface-effect ship (WISE).
The wig ship runs 180~250 km per hour in position of 1~5 meters of upper area of the sea. Wigship heavy Industry started the design since 2009, and finally it has successfully took off the sea trial on December 2011. Overall length is 29 meters, 27 meters width of the body are built by an aluminum alloy with lightweight purpose and 2 turbo pro engine with diesel.
HivetecksⓇ H102 decorative laminate honeycomb panels were chosen by the shipyard for lightweight purpose and luxurious interior spaces for commercial guests. Usual honeycomb makers in the world produce both side of the decorative laminates on both honeycomb panels, but only Hongseong Industrial can supply one side laminate honeycomb panel with flatness, without curving.
